Bootleg Fentanyl

November 16, 2016 ‐ Bootleg (non-prescribed) Fentanyl is in Ontario. Because Bootleg Fentanyl is made and circulated exclusively by an illegal market, there is no control over the drug’s quality or purity and it has the potential to be much more powerful than prescribed Fentanyl. A small amount of Bootleg Fentanyl can be fatal – as little as two grains of salt.

Blue-green algae found in Bagot-Long Lake

November 15, 2016 ‐ The Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) has advised the Renfrew County and District Health Unit that test results of a water sample taken from Bagot-Long Lake, was positive for blue-green algae (cyanobacteria).

Three Confirmed Cases of Measles in Ottawa and Lanark County

September 9, 2016 ‐ Renfrew County and District Health Unit has been informed that Ottawa Public Health and Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit are investigating three related cases of measles in unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated individuals.

Blue-Green Algae Found in Muskrat Lake

August 23, 2016 ‐ The Ontario Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has advised the Renfrew County and District Health Unit that test results from water samples taken from Muskrat Lake have confirmed the presence of blue-green algae.

August 12, 2016 ‐ The Drinking Water Advisory issued to all users of the municipal water system in the Town of Arnprior on August 10, 2016 has been lifted.
