Drinking Water Advisory for Town of Arnprior Sullivan Industrial Park – Continues to Remain in Effect

October 19, 2017 ‐ The Drinking Water Advisory previously issued on October 19th, for the SULLIVAN INDUSTRIAL PARK, excluding Pillar5, continues to remain in effect. This order affects the following streets: Decosta Street, Hartney Street, McCartney Street, Didak Drive, and properties serviced by Arnprior on Herrick Drive.

Risk of Overdose from Carfentanil

October 6, 2017 ‐ Renfrew County and District Health Unit, Upper Ottawa Valley OPP, County of Renfrew Paramedic Services and Addictions Treatment Services are warning the public that there is a risk of carfentanil being mixed with other illicit drugs.

West Nile Virus Continues to be Found in Renfrew County and District

August 9, 2017 ‐ Mosquitoes carrying West Nile Virus (WNv) have been found in Renfrew County. It is the second week in a row that mosquitos have been found to be carrying WNv.

West Nile Virus Found in Mosquitoes in Renfrew County

August 1, 2017 ‐ Mosquitoes carrying West Nile Virus (WNv) have been found in Laurentian Valley Township around the intersection of Highway 41 and Whitewater Road. This is the first time that mosquitoes have tested positive for WNv in Renfrew County and District since the health unit began monitoring mosquitoes for WNv in 2005.

Blue-Green Algae Found – Muskrat Lake

July 20, 2017 ‐ The Ontario Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has advised the Renfrew County and District Health Unit that test results from water samples taken from Muskrat Lake have confirmed the presence of blue-green algae.

Local Dietitian Recognized by Board of Health for Provincial Award

July 19, 2017 ‐ Renfrew County and District Board of Health is pleased to announce that Carolyn Froats-Emond, Community Dietitian, has received the Peer Recognition Award from the Ontario Society of Nutrition Professionals in Public Health.
