November 2, 2018 ‐ Renfrew County and District Health Unit wants to remind the public that it’s flu season. The free flu vaccine is available to all people living, working or attending school in Ontario, who are six months of age or older.

Infection Prevention and Control Lapse at a Stittsville Medical Clinic

July 31, 2018 ‐ An infection prevention and control lapse investigation by Ottawa Public Health (OPH) has identified that patients who had some minor surgical procedures at the Main Street Family Medical Centre, located at 1251 Stittsville Main Street, may have been exposed to improperly cleaned medical equipment. Brush Up On The Facts – April is Oral Health Month

March 29, 2018 ‐ The Ontario Association of Public Health Dentistry (OAPHD), along with Public Health Units across Ontario, has launched an awareness campaign for Oral Health Month. The “Brush Up on the Facts: Keep Kids’ Teeth Healthy” campaign is geared to parents and focuses on the impact dental health has on kids’ healthy growth and development and the free dental programs and services that are available for eligible kids 0-17.

Be Aware . . . Ticks May Be There

March 29, 2018 ‐ As the daytime temperature begins to rise, ticks become active looking for a blood meal. When outdoors - in environments like wooded areas, tall grasses and shrubs - be aware ticks may be there. You may be at risk of getting Lyme disease if bitten by an infected tick. Ticks have been found in Renfrew County and District for many years with a small number of them testing positive for the bacteria that causes Lyme disease.
