July 3, 2019 ‐ A new breastfeeding drop-in pilot has begun, where a Registered Nurse and a breastfeeding specialist from Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) provide one-on-one support and counselling.

May 3, 2019 ‐ Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) reminds residents not to eat food that may have come into contact with flood water.

ALERT: Sudden Increase in Drug Overdoses in Renfrew County and District

May 3, 2019 ‐ Renfrew County and District is experiencing a sudden increase in the number of overdose reports in the last week, mostly in the Arnprior area. Cocaine laced with fentanyl and the drug “Purple” are reported to be involved in the most recent overdoses. We are warning people who use drugs that Fentanyl or Carfentanil can be mixed into other illicit substances.

Flood Water Safety

April 26, 2019 ‐ Renfrew County and District is currently experiencing localized flooding due to a combination of heavy rains and runoff from melting snow. Rising water levels pose a threat to the health and safety of residents.

Confirmed Case of Measles in Ottawa (April 5, 2019)

April 5, 2019 ‐ Ottawa Public Health is investigating a confirmed case of measles. In response, Renfrew County and District Health Unit will be investigating any potential contacts who reside in our area.

Measles (March 8, 2019)

April 5, 2019 ‐ Measles: A highly contagious infectious disease that spreads through the air, by expelled droplets from sneezes and coughs. Droplets from an infected person can live for up to two hours in the air – even after the person has left the room. There is no cure for the measles virus, treatment is offered to relieve symptoms and prevent severe complications.

April 5, 2019 ‐ Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) has launched its disclosure website to provide access to inspection reports.
