October 23, 2020 – Renfrew County and District Health Unit’s Pembroke Office – Notice of Relocation

October 23, 2020 ‐ Please be advised that Renfrew County and District Health Unit’s (RCDHU) Pembroke office will be relocating to a temporary location at the Pembroke Mall, 1100 Pembroke Street East.

October 22, 2020 – RCDHU 2020/2021 Flu Campaign Update

October 22, 2020 ‐ Due to COVID-19, there is increased early interest from the public in the flu vaccination this year. While Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) applauds the fact that more residents are recognizing the importance of annual flu shots, please be advised that community flu clinics will start in early November pending the announcement of the provincial launch.

October 22, 2020 – How to Safely Navigate Halloween during COVID-19

October 22, 2020 ‐ Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) wants residents to be safe this Halloween. Due to the significant increase in COVID-19 case counts in Renfrew County and District (RCD), RCDHU is recommending that residents consider opting for safer alternative ways to celebrate Halloween. RCDHU is strongly recommending the cancellation of traditional organized community/municipal Halloween events where unmonitored or private social gatherings occur.

October 16, 2020 – Health Unit’s Pembroke Office is Relocating

October 16, 2020 ‐ The lease for Renfrew County and District Health Unit’s (RCDHU) Pembroke office at 7 International Drive ends on October 31, 2020. Construction is being completed at the new permanent office at 141 Lake Street in Pembroke. The health unit will be temporarily located at the Pembroke Mall at 1100 Pembroke Street East, effective October 26th. It will be business as usual with no disruption of services.

October 15, 2020 – How to Safely Navigate COVID-19 during Hunting Season

October 15, 2020 ‐ As another hunting season begins, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is reminding residents to adhere to public health guidelines to ensure a safe hunt.

October 14, 2020 – Workplace Safety during Wave II of COVID-19

October 14, 2020 ‐ Wave II of COVID-19 is now adding stress on our efforts to keep the economy up and running. This should come as no surprise. We had a virtual lockdown during Wave I and the number of cases this fall will no doubt exceed those from last spring.

October 6, 2020 – RCDHU Flu Campaign–Flu is Just Around the Corner

October 6, 2020 ‐ Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is working with primary care and community partners to plan and implement a Renfrew County and District Flu Campaign. The Ministry of Health is releasing flu vaccine in stages across the province to priority groups first; long-term care homes, hospitals and primary care. It is anticipated that community flu clinics will start in late October – early November, pending the announcement of the provincial launch.

October 2, 2020 – Ontario Introduces Additional Public Health Measures

October 2, 2020 ‐ Today, the Ontario Government announced the implementation of additional public health measures, effective Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 12:01 a.m. Additionally, the provincial government has extended orders currently in force under the Reopening Ontario (A Flexible Response to COVID-19) Act, 2020 (ROA) to October 22, 2020.

October 2, 2020 – RCDHU Update on the COVID-19 School and Childcare Screening Tool

October 2, 2020 ‐ On October 1st, the Ministry of Health released updated guidelines on COVID-19 and possible COVID-19 symptoms. In order to avoid putting an impossible demand on Family Physician’s Offices and on the Renfrew County Virtual Triage and Assessment Centre (VTAC), Dr. Robert Cushman, Acting Medical Officer of Health, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU), and Dr. Jonathan Fitzsimon, Clinical Coordinator, VTAC, are providing additional health advice for residents to follow in the event that you or your children become unwell with symptoms that may be related to COVID-19.

September 25, 2020 – Update for COVID-19 Outbreak at Fellowes High School

September 25, 2020 ‐ Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is declaring the Outbreak at Fellowes High School over, effective September 26th, 2020. RCDHU is confirming that no additional positive tests among students, staff, or close contacts at Fellowes High School were received. Starting Saturday September 26th, students and staff no longer need to self-isolate and classes will resume Monday, September 28th.
