April 6, 2021 – Advisory issued for low-risk COVID-19 exposure at Metro in Arnprior

April 6, 2021 ‐ Today, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is confirming that an individual has tested positive for novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19). This individual was wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE). The risk of exposure is considered low for those who attended the facility. Out of an abundance of caution, this low-risk advisory is being issued for individuals who attended Metro (375 Daniel Street South) during the following: • Metro (Arnprior): Thursday, April 1, 2021, between 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. • Metro (Arnprior): Saturday, April 3, 2021, between 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

April 1, 2021 ‐ Today, the Ontario Government announced the implementation of a provincewide shutdown, effective Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 12:01 a.m., for at least four weeks.

March 31, 2021 – RCDHU Confirms Individual at Wise Owl Day Care Centre Tests Positive For COVID-19

March 31, 2021 ‐ Today, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is confirming that an individual at Wise Owl Day Care Centre in Pembroke has a positive laboratory-confirmed case of novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19). All children and staff who have been deemed to be a close contact of the positive case, have been given direction to go home immediately to self-isolate and arrange for testing. The day care remains open for other clients and staff.

March 31, 2021 – RCDHU Confirms Student at Cathedral Catholic Elementary School Tests Positive For COVID-19

March 31, 2021 ‐ Today, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) in collaboration with the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board (RCCDSB), is confirming that a student at Cathedral Catholic Elementary School in Pembroke has a positive laboratory-confirmed case of novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19). All students and staff who have been deemed to be a close contact of the positive case, have been given direction to go home immediately to self-isolate and arrange for testing. The school remains open for in-person learning.

March 28, 2021 – RCDHU Confirms an Individual at La Garderie les petites mains Tests Positive For COVID-19

March 28, 2021 ‐ Today, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is confirming that an individual at La Garderie les petites mains in Pembroke on 1253 Pembroke Street, West, has a positive laboratory-confirmed case of novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19). All children and staff who have been deemed to be a close contact of the positive case, have been given direction to go home immediately to self-isolate and arrange for testing. The daycare remains open to all other clients and staff.

March 28, 2021 – COVID-19 Spreads as Variants of Concern Reach Renfrew County and District

March 28, 2021 ‐ Today, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is confirming that variants of concern (VOCs) have been identified in Renfrew County and District (RCD). One-third of the cases in the last week have been confirmed to be the U.K. B.1.1.7 VOC. Initial cases can be contributed to travel and workplaces outside of RCD, followed by community spread within RCD.

March 27, 2021 – RCDHU Confirms One Staff Member at Tim Hortons in Renfrew Tests Positive for COVID-19

March 27, 2021 ‐ Today, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is confirming that one staff member at Tim Hortons in Renfrew, has a positive laboratory-confirmed case of novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19). As a result, Tim Hortons management has voluntarily closed both sites to undergo a deep clean of both facilities. All staff who have been deemed to be a close contact of the positive case, have been given direction to self-isolate and arrange for testing.

March 26, 2021 – RCDHU Introduces “COVID-19 Safe Dining” Requirements for Patrons and Operators

March 26, 2021 ‐ Effective April 02, 2021 - Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is requiring that patrons dine out with household members only to help limit the spread of COVID-19 across Renfrew County and District (RCD). This is especially important as the number of presumed variants of concern (VOC) cases rise across the province.

March 25, 2021 – Vaccine Appointments to be Available Early Next Week for Residents 75 to 79 Years of Age

March 25, 2021 ‐ There has been tremendous interest and uptake in COVID-19 vaccination so far in Renfrew County and District (RCD). Approximately three quarters of residents 80 years of age and over have been vaccinated with first doses, and Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) will be moving on to booking the 75 to 79 years of age category early next week.

March 25, 2021 – RCDHU Update: COVID-19 Community Outbreak Among Two Local Municipalities

March 25, 2021 ‐ Today, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is confirming that no additional positive tests among students, staff, or close contacts at Madawaska Valley District High School (MVDHS) were received.
