The Health Unit provides parenting information and support through drop-ins, workshops and Nobody’s Perfect Parenting.

Attend this FREE workshop on understanding your baby’s crying to learn:

  • Why babies cry
  • How to calm and soothe your crying baby
  • Tips for taking care of yourself when your baby cries

Nobody’s Perfect Parenting is a place where parents can:

MEET with other parents of young children
SHARE questions, concerns and ideas about being a parent
LEARN about child development, safety, health and behaviour
DISCUSS real-life parenting situations
WORK together with the support of a trained Nobody’s Perfect facilitator
DISCOVER positive ways of parenting
Nobody’s Perfect is designed to strengthen positive parenting skills. The sessions are FREE, interactive and fun. Child care and snacks are provided.

Come with your child (age 0-6 years). Meet other parents and have one-on-one time with a Public Health Nurse. Get information about feeding, sleeping, crying and other parenting issues.

When Sprouting Speech is offered at Parent Child Drop-in, a Speech Language Pathologist can assess your child’s speech and language skills and discuss any concerns you have. For more information visit http://sproutingspeech.on.ca/.

Come to the Under One Club with your baby (0-12 months) to play and meet other parents. A Public Health Nurse is available for questions about breastfeeding and parenting.

Come with your baby (0-12 months) to play and meet other young parents. Talk with a public health nurse to ask questions and get information about feeding, sleeping, crying and other parenting issues.

Have your baby’s weight and development checked by a Public Health Nurse.

Baby and Me is provided in partnership with Jubilee Place.
